Troy senior running back Joey Ward rushed for 233 yards and scored four touchdowns (3 rushing, 1 receiving) as the Flying Horses win their second consecutive state championship, beating Lancaster, 41-26. Ward wasn't the only senior who shined in this state final. Villanova bound Dev Holmes had 8 catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns. With the victory, Troy joins Cambridge as the only two Section 2 programs to win back to back state titles under the current state tournament format. The win in the state final is Troy's 26th consecutive, the longest current winning streak in New York State high school football.
